A charming father and son team offer a magic formula of romance and style, a huge wine cellar and a mesmerising night-time view of twinkling lights tucked away in Waterkloof Heights. Inspired regional Italian cuisine, not only from the family's Neapolitan origins, but all areas of Italy, are on offer. Local ingredients adapted to suit Italian passion are used, such as authentic al dente pasta, authoritative fillet of veal, with daily fresh seafood specials. There is a wine cellar with over 10,000 bottles to choose from.
For at least six years I have been a patron of Ritrovo. I have entertained many family members and friends at Ritrovo over the years, and never once has the food and service been anything but excellent.
Fortunato, his wife and his father are the perfect hosts, always making their patrons feel welcome and special.
Fortunato was voted chef of the year for 2005 by Food and Home magazine and an article was published to this effect in the December 2005 edition. Well done Fortunato! Well done Ritrovo! A fine testament to what I believe is one of the finest South African restaurants.
Ritrovo Ristorante is the absolute Best of the Best! I have been to them on numerous occasions, and never ever did I, or any of my guests, had a bad food experience. The menu is well balanced, and everything on it is excellent. The wine list is extensive and has more than one option for anyone!!
It is, as far as I am concerned, the best restaurant in the whole of Gauteng and definitely my number one choice.
I have visited Ritrovo on numerous occasions and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is excellent (especially the carrot cake desert) the service superb, the ambiance is one in a million. THE best restaurant in Pretoria.
On this occasion, we had Ossobucco which was tough and tasteless, plus my chef guest didnt think it was veal. Both pasta dishes had been left in the warmer too long and the tops of the meals were crunchy and dry. This is not acceptable in a restaurant with the reputation that it has
