Night Safari

Description

Put a zoo and a national wildlife park together and you will get this enchanting Night Safari that is home to 100 exotic species, many rare and endangered. The first of its kind in the world, this 40-hectare (98.8-acre) jungle allows you to watch 1,000 nocturnal animals come alive at night in their natural habitats. A tram ride lets you tour the park in comfort (extra charges apply). For more adventure, choose from one of the three walking trails and discover the wildlife at close quarters.

long lines, great visit
By Al K, 4/28/12
If you take the tram, you will wait in line longer then the tram ride. If you walk or when you finally get to the front of the line, the visit is worth the money and the time in line.

NOT worth your time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/25/11
First off, I ordered my ticket in advance before I even arrived Singapore in order to GET IN THE NIGHT SAFARI FASTER. However, once I got there, I spent MORE THAN HALF of my time JUST LINING UP to get on a tram that only takes 30 minutes. I payed 47 Singapore dollars to, well, line up. Lining up for one and a half hour just for going into a 30 minute ride is just NOT WORTH IT. You're better off enjoying your half an hour on Orchard Rd. or something. Their system is very messed up, the number of people seems to be uncontrollable. If you hate crowds, this wouldn't be the place for you. As for the actual tram ride, as I said before, takes about 30 minutes (actually calculated with my iPhone), and the animals are barely visible. To my knowledge, some of these animals aren't even "NIGHT" animals, or animals that only take action at night. Like lions, tigers, elephants and hippos? I'm pretty sure you can see those guys in the day time. HOWEVER, the guide was amazing, he made the whole atmosphere pumped up and got all of the passengers excited. I wouldn't recommend the Night Safari if you have a lot of jumpy kids. However, if you don't mind standing in line for more than an hour just for a half an hour trip, then it'll be a great trip. The thing is, I wouldn't go again. And I will not recommend it to anyone. It is, however, a great experience - it teaches kids the value of patience.

Definitely worth going to!
By thirdy l, 7/19/09
I'd love my experience going here! It was so scary having wild animals so near you... Do not use flash photography unless you want to be eaten by these wild animals... The animal show was unforgettable... Some animals are so cute but don't touch them coz they might eat you... Don't fail to ride the car trails and walk all the trails to get the maximum experience... I'm definitely going back if I have the chance.. Book a bus going back home... Taxis cost a lot...

Animals at night
By rod smith, 7/21/08
A good place to visit while in Singapore. I had a 2-1 ticket from Singapore Airlines. If you fly this airline make sure you stop at the Singapore Stopover desk in the airport to get good coupons during your stay. The safari was enjoyable and the walk down the trails is very dark, so it is not easy to get any descent pics of the place. The food inside the park is very pricey. Eat dinner before you come. The tour is about a 4 hour round-trip from a downtown hotel

The amazing night safari
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/08
My visit to the singapore night safari was excellent....they have a huge variety of animals over there.the best part is that the animals have been adopted by families or organisations from all over the world...this is an amazing tourist spot and a must see for everyone.

One of the best experiences of my life!!
By cyrena, 2/1/08
Walking the Leopard Trail and hearing the cats through the dense jungle. It really gives a true feel of what it would be like to walk through the jungle without the fear of being eaten!
