Description

Green gingham chequered tablecloths create a cosy American-style ambience. Grill specialities include Surf & Turf (New Zealand special cut sirloin steak and grilled crayfish tail, topped with port wine sauce) and Mixed Grill (pork and lamb chops, beef steak, chicken, sausage, bacon topped with a fried egg). Alternatively, try the lobster thermidor or grilled king prawns. Local fare comprises a selection of Chinese noodles, sambal prawns and stir-fried beef with pepper. Beverages include fruit juices, tea, coffee and wines from Australia, France and Germany. Other Branches: Ang Mo Kio (+65 6454 9677), Bras Basah Complex (+65 6337 1752), and Bukit Panjang Plaza (+65 6892 8700).

Hurry up later part of this year

My favourite restaurant was in the Tampines Shopping Centre where I had Fish and Chips with a wonderful cold Tiger Beer. I usually spend 2 Months in Singapore every year and within 4 hours on the first day in being there I dont want anything else except my Fish and Chips and a Cold Tiger so whatever u do Jacks Never leave Singapore otherwise I will sue u for Double Fish and Chips. Keep it fellow ur TOPS. Reg Powell

Really missing Jack's Place steak and sambal sauce!!!

Jack's Place steak is really tender and fresh . Their speciality is ,steak was put on the hot plate to serve and beef came from NewZeland . I prefer NZ beef than US beef. You can only enjoy sambal sauce in this restaurant among all over the world. I have tried steak from many countries but I can recommmend that their steak is great together with sambal sauce.

Weird

The Service is quite weird as the staff get frustrated very fast after being ordered for a dish or something. The food is okay, so it doesnt really deserve the value it receives.

Jack of all trades

. . . master of none. I wish they'd shrink the menu and concentrate on what they're good at. The food is decent and prices are average but the setting is always a bit bland. Service can fluctuate as other posters have mentioned. There are lots of branches all over S'pore for this typical mall restaurant. When you're stuck in a mall, it's a safe choice. And to the previous poster, jwocvee (who is probably a fellow American): You are in ASIA! People speak 'chinese' here. Have you noticed that? YOU are the foreigner here; not them.

value for money

went to a few outlets. honestly, quality depends on the chef of different outlets. generally, the food is pretty good value for money, and service is pretty ok too. one in bras basah near the new National Library had a really enthusiastic manager, same as tampines century square. The one along Orchard Road (basement) was a bit stuck up, probably due to normally caucasian clientelle.

memorable place 2 eat

Ang mo kio, is the most favourite place 2 eat. the food was verry tasty,d staff were friendly, helpull, they know what they were selling, and offer me d proper menu. The only one problem was 2 small table for 2,2 close 2 other table, that,s all. bravo jacks!

Great Food but cramped conditions

The service was fine and the decor ok but the highlight still is the food. The lobster bisque and the house speciality steaks were very good indeed. The mixed grill was definite value for money, as was the set menu. My only grouse was the cramped conditions, there were too many tables...so you could never aspire to have a quiet conversation as the next couple is just an elbow away.

Disappointed when I went back

Well staff speaking in chinese is one reason. Noisy environment especially with the open concept style. Portions are getting smaller No more service as have a good meal sir or madam, when u collect the bill no more service as was the meal good.. Too cramped up. Too close for comfort with others
