Disappointingly Ordinary

The set lunch is good value for money. However, the a la carte menu is overpriced. I had the panfried turbot for $80 and it was overcooked and tough! At that price I expected nothing less than perfection. But for the fact that I was with a guest and didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable, I would have sent the thing back! The foie gras terrine was OK, nothing exceptional. However, I did like the almond souffle although it was a little too sweet. Nice wines but overpriced.
Service is spotty and can be improved -- there were only three tables with diners when we were there (including ours) and the waiter brought me the wrong dessert. Apart from the sommelier and maitre d, the other staff had a less- than-fluent command of English. Not what I would expect in a 5-star restaurant in Singapore!
