Fairways & Bluewater

Description

Designed by Graham Marsh, Fairways & Bluewater certainly enhances the unique sensation of playing golf on a tropical island. Spread out over rolling hills that overlook the sea, the 18-hole par-72 course is an oasis of greenery dotted with natural highlights such as water and rock features. The resort and country club was inaugurated in December 1997 with a tournament involving eight of world's top golfers, including Faldo and Woosnam.

Wow!
By ,
It's beautiful. If you are going to stay here, make sure you rent a Villa. I have heard that the separate rooms on the far side of the golf course aren't as nice. But other than that it is wonderful. They have a HUGE brand new, freshwater swimming pool- right next to the private white sand beach. The main part of the town is not TOO far away. They provide a free shuttle service. It probably takes about 5 minutes to get into the tourist central part of town. You don't need to golf to enjoy your stay! The view from the room is amazing! Service is great. Air conditioning in all the rooms. Maid service and everything you would want. TOTALLY worth the money, I really wish that I could have stayed longer. STAY HERE! It's incredible and soooo worth it.

THE WORST KIND OF EXPERIENCE
By ,
My parents stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago and their room got broken into while they were fast asleep. It was very apparent that this was an inside job as their lock was tampered with from the inside. I'm just thankful that they didn't wake up to catch the burglar as this may have led to a worst scenario. Their cellphones and wallets got stolen and some jewelry. No apologies from the hotel management, nor any form of compensation. Definite lack of security here and insensitive and unprofessional customer service.

worst hotel in boracay?
By ,
I stayed in fairways early november, and I can't imagine i waisted so much money for such a ugly place! The room was not good! the service was very poor, the food is awful, from the salad to the pizza even the fruit shake are double the price than anywhere else, but they are tasteless! If you don't play golf, don't go there it is far from the white beach. If you play golf, go play somewhere else. In fairways everything is more expensive and worst than anywhere in Boracay!

Revitalizing the GOLF club and facilities
By ,
As recent retiree's to Boracay my wife and I joined the golf club. We have been very pleased at the changes that are occurring, especially for the members. The recent 10th Chairmans Cup was a superbly run event for all players and guests. New members lounge and lockers will be much appreciated. The current members have made us feel very welcome indeed. We are happy to be part of this great facility. The Andersons

incredible place
By ,
I liked the accomodation, the atmosphere, the golf course was as good as it gets re. condition, layout ,views etc.the position on the island is excellent,ie quite, relaxed.but close enough to the action if required.I dont agree with the reviewer about investing in property on golf course.Flights are now available on Cebu Pacific direct to Caticlan( very much cheaper) and with the development of quality accomodation on the island property values and rental potential can only increase and possibly dramatically.

A lovely place to visit, but...
By ,
The other "reviews" are generally accurate with respect to the quality of the accomodations, the beauty of the course and the delightfully private and clean beaches. We have also found the staff to be as helpful as they can given the limitations of this obviously struggling resort. Fortunately, Friday's and other more reasonably priced dining establishments are accessible from this relatively isolated locale on the small island of Boracay. The master plan was obviously to be all-inclusive, but development has been delayed largely in part due to management's overly optimistic market assessment, and financial difficulties in other portions of their operations. In short, go and enjoy the golf, the beach and even the accomodations, but avoid even discussing any offer to invest in this "slice of paradise". We know several couples from various parts of the world who have done so, to their great sorrow.

A must visit again
By ,
Everything is just beautiful. The scene is breathtaking, the waters so inviting, the place so relaxing. The food is great! people are friendly. The place is clean. The beach just lures you to go back over and over again. There is no such thing as, i had too much of this place. But to put simply, each time your vacation ends you will say, I'll be back.

We loved it. Now we own a piece of it!
By ,
That's what we did. We bought our own condotel unit at Fairways and Bluewater. We were there last February 2007, our first visit to the island. Service was excellent. Staff was very warm and pleasant. They always went out of their way to please us. Our rooms were exceptionally comfortable. Didn't miss anything from home(California). Breathtaking scenery from the fairways especially from the highest point of the course. A private white sand beach, all to ourselves. The west beach (public)area is a short ride. After we were done with dinner and night life on White Beach, it was nice to go home to peace and quiet. WOW..that's vacation. I learned during our stay that condotel units are for sale. Further inquiries, negotiation and paperwork, now we have a place of our own in a private setting with world class amenities. The best part, it is not a time-share. We own the unit and we'll have rental income from it. Fairways and Bluewater, simply amazing!

Golf! Golf! Golf!
By ,
I would like to preface this by saying we did not stay here but we loved it so much we spent two days golfing at Fairways and Bluewater. We actuallya stayed at Boracay Tropics which was nice but a little too far from the beach for my tastes. But let me get back to the point. The views around the clubhouse and course were absolutely beautiful. The course is challenging but with tips from the very knowledgable caddies, we got by. The only draw back is the price. It was by far the most expensive of the 4 course I played in my two weeks in Philppines by almost double. However, it was most beautiful as well. The service was alittle slow in the restaurant but always very friendly like all of Philippines. The food was very good and reasonable for a resort. We loved it at Fairways and Bluewater so much that next time we will do the 4 night package with unlimited golf for $700.
