Nigi Nigi Nu Noo Bar & Restaurant

Description

Polynesian in mood, this much-frequented restaurant is easy to spot--there is a small banca (wooden boat) loaded with fresh seafood on ice at the entrance. Start your meal with gambas (shrimps in spicy sauce), then go on to a seafood curry (mild, hot or explosive). Or have a vegetarian meal of noodles, spring rolls and stir-fried vegetables. The very popular breakfast of eat-all-you-can eggs should not be missed! All kinds of beverages are available from the bar.

Not the Ritz but fantastic value for what you pay
By ,
Nigi Nigi's was recommended to me by a friend - I wasn't disappointed. Staff made me feel like I was the only one there. The food was good and our room was very quiet - despite being close to the nightspots. I stayed there for 10 nights in March 09 and I am currently looking to return in October. I would happilly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great place to stay at mid-range price. Look out Nigi Nigi's coz Im coming back! btw, I read a comment about the burgers not being as good as they advertised. I have to disagree with the comment. I thought the burgers were terrific. I would suggest you try for yourself and make up your own mind!

Nothing to write home about
By ,
In our second week on the island, my father and brother suggested we try Nigi Nigi Nu Noo's for their advertised "best burger on the island". Unfortunately, each of the 3 places we tried burgers at during our two week stay ended up tasting like a low grade meatloaf sandwich. Admittedly, seafood is the way to go on the island, but you can only eat so much seafood. My father had the burger and said it was nothing great. I ordered garlic fried rice (tasty, a generous portion for less than p100). I also got the vegetable tempura, and this was a huge mistake. The plate was enormous but what the food lacked in taste I wished they hadn't made up for in size. It was breaded in batter that had not been made with ice water and I could not eat any of it after a couple bites. My 3 year old scraped the coating off and ate the sweet potato pieces. They also served it with a nasty mix of soy sauce and vinegar, not anything close to tempura dipping sauce. My brother ordered the European Breakfast and said it was quite good and worth the 250 pesos. My 5 year old son had a plain pancake and declared it "good". I did not try their cocktails, but the bar area had the look of a pickup joint as it is situated in a somewhat crowded area where lots of tourists are passing close by constantly; it's not set back from the beachfront path at all. The waiters were not too attentive but I guess you get what you pay for. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Boracay I will probably not eat here again.

The Best Place in the World
By ,
If you want the true island feel, Nigi's is the place to stay. Don't expect 4* accomodations, no TV's or phones in the rooms, but then again, you are never in the room! Nigi's has the best happy hour on the beach, and the best location, right in the middle of the beach area, and perfect for people watching. The staff is friendly, fun, and accomodating. Now remember, this is a 3rd world country, but it is definately worth the time and money. Most beautiful white sugar sand beach in the world.

Worth the trip
By ,
I stayed there for 3 days and competely enjoyed it. The location was just 50 yrs from the beach, just across the main dirt path along the beach. The decor is quite enchanting, and everything you can hope for in a "third world setting" is avaiable. I've traveled to 23 Countries and 26 states, and there has been now nicer place to stay, unless you are looking to pay $200 / nite in most places (double that in Las Vegas). It really is everything and more.

Loved it, would go back in a hearbeat!
By ,
I loved everything! The people were great, the food was excellent, and the ambiance of the place was better than any I saw up and down the beach. I plan on going back to Boracay, and I will for sure be staying there again!

Going back next week...wooohooo
By ,
Service was fantastic. Very cheery and helpful. Kids loved the big bird near the restaurant. Seafood feast was fresh. The english breakfast including hashbrowns, fresh fruit, etc can already be considered a brunch. The happy hour 5pm 50% off cocktails is truly happy.

Nigi Nigi Nu Noo. You have to love the name.
By ,
What drew us into Nigi Nigi Nu Noo Bar & Restaurant was tropical and inviting look of the place. The front part of the restaurant looks like a series of huts. We ate lunch here and the food was very good and hit the spot. The price was very reasonable. My friends liked it so much they went back for dinner. The bar was full of an assortment of nationalities.

Wonderful Ambiance
By ,
A lovely relaxed mini resort, very close to the beach, with helpful staff and wonderful rooms. Not a 5 star hotel if that is what you are looking for, but great value in its price range. We have stayed there 3 times and wouldn't hesitate to return.
