Turoa Skifield, Ohakune

Turoa is located on the southeast face of Mount Ruapehu, 17 kilometres from the après-ski village, Ohakune and about 300 kilometres from Wellington. Some claim it is the best field in the country with ever changing ski conditions providing constant challenges. The annual snowfall is 500 centimetres and the highest point 2320 metres. There are two triple chairs, two quads, four platters and three T-bars. Snowboarding and extreme skiing is possible as well as ski schools, mountain safety courses and of course great food and accommodation in the village. The season is June to November.
