Awesome Place / rude people there!
By ,
The place is very nice inside, for being a hot city (Monterrey) its very well conditioned and nice, history everywhere and very nice expositions there. On the other hand I didn't finish my tour since a "security guard" came to me and said "Pictures are not allowed" to what I replied "this is a museum, that's stupid" and they said I couldn't take any pictures or I have to leave, so I left. I have no idea why this people was rude (totally rude) since a Museum is a public place. Avoid going here with cameras or bette yet DON'T GO.

Wonderful museum!
By ,
The museum of Mexican history in Monterrey offers great exhibits to Mexicans and Americans alike. If you have even a marginal interest in Mexican history or in history in general, you really should go to this museum if you're making a visit to Monterrey. Much better than the other museums in town (MARCO, Obispado, Vidrio, etc.), especially in terms of offerings for American tourists. Personal guided tours available in English, free of charge. Just ask at the desk. Really, you should go to this museum if you're going to be in Monterrey and will have free time!

Must See for History Lovers
By ,
You will be able to see anything and everything pertaining to Mexican history in this museum. You will need to be able to at least read or speak Spanish however, or be able to hire an English-speaking tour guide available at the museum. You can walk through the museum in an order which takes you through history in a timeline fashion. It is a valuable experience and a must-see when in Monterrey.

Great Museum for Spanish speakers
By ,
Awesome museum, but you won't know what you're seeing unless you're on a tour or buy a guide since there are no info cards in English.

History is waiting for you.
By ,
The Museo de Historia Mexicana (Mexican History Museum) was built in 1994 to celebrate the 400 anniversary of the Foundation of Monterrey. It displays really modern architecture. It has a Permanent Exposition where you can travel trough all the historical faces of Mexico, since the Aztecs to the present days. Also it has a Temporary Exposition that presents varied cultural and artistic matters. The museum is huge and you'll find interactivity in all the exposition. You can hear facts from the history of Mexico, you can learn how the aztec calendar works by using a huge electronic board. The museum is built over an articial river. In the side of the river you can find some stores and restaurants, also you can rent a small bote and enjoy a little trip.
