El Gran Pastor
A great place for those who wish to enjoy the traditional food of Monterrey. The house specialty is cabrito (kid goat). It is served in many different ways: pastor (sheperd) style, fried or in sauce, just to mention a few. You can also taste different cuts of grilled meat and accompany your meals with ample choices of salads, guacamole and melted cheese. A place with a one hundred percent family atmosphere which captures in its dishes, its style and its service, the excellence which characterizes the people of Monterrey.
On Monday night, January 11, 2010, I stopped by on my way to the hotel to eat. I ordered a leg of cabrito. I got a foreleg which was very small, about 6 oz of meat at most, the skin was cold, hard, tough as leather. I had to peel it off and ate what little meat the cold bones had. I had a cup of coffee which tasted horrible. No salad was provided as listed on the menu. A batch of cold tortillas, a small mound of cold refried beans. The waiters looked tired and careless, with no interest in service. They only came by to give me the bill. Out of sympathy I left a good tip. That night and the next morning I had remorse about eating there and will never be back. I should have left.
The "cabrito" is a regional meal it has a unique flavor, this remind me the Westerns roast, it has a great quality and the service is the best in town.
the decorated isnt pretty good really id prefer a better interior design for price
