This is one of the most traditional and well-known restaurants in all of Monterrey for cabrito (kid goat). Politicians, artists and other celebrities gather here for the popular, regional fare. Cuts of grilled meat, soups and abundant side dishes such as rice and beans are also on the menu. There is a playground for children while adults enjoy the meal to mariachi music and other Mexican bands. The establishment is truly a taste of Monterrey culture at its best.
I had the queso frito (fried cheese) with homemade corn and flour tortillas to start off with and as an entree I had the filete ladrillo (the cut of meat). The entree came with a few veggies, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is nice inside and very big. The food was truly delicious!
