I went to Liang s Bistro last night for the first time and had my worst restaurant experience to date. We arrived at 9:15 pm and asked the hostess what time they closed and she said 10pm. She then sat us at our table outside. We were told by our server that the kitchen had already started to clean up and it would take about 10 minutes before the kitchen could even start cooking our meal. We still decided to stay although it was evident the server would have preferred us to leave. We received our mediocre food. After we ate our meal, we continued to sit outside and finish our glasses of wine. At 10 pm the manager turned off the lights knowing customers were sitting outside. It was literally pitch black. We walked inside to finish our wine and then was approached by the manager telling us they close at 10 pm. We stated we would just like to finish our drinks we paid for before we left. In no means were we taking longer than a typical meal and two glasses of wine would take to consume. I have never been told to leave in the middle of finishing dinner nor had lights turned off on me. All the restaurant had to do was wait 10 minutes after their closing time for us to leave. My boyfriend argued with the manager and told him we would be staying until we finished our wine. We did so and informed the staff we would never be returning.
My wife and I love this resaurant. We have lived in New York, Los Angeles and have traveled often to San Francisco and China.
Liang's Bistro is head and shoulders above most American Asain restaurants. Liang's with out a doubt is the best Asian restaurnat in Florida.

I usually don't write reviews unless i'm really happy with something, and Liang's Bistro definitely fits the bill. I went there with my colleagues while on business a trip from NY, and they definitely treated us very well down there. Perhaps they could tell we were from out of town and gave us extra attention, but i think it just reflects on their professionalism of the service staff as a whole.
Of course the food was really good too. I had the Ku Pao scallops and pineapple prawns in the times I had been there. I personally enjoy visiting Chinese places in various parts of the world as each has influence on local flavor from the produce available. Anything seafood related seems excellent, with Tampa being right on the water of course. Liang's compares favorably against others!
I'm not too sure what other people took issue about with the crispy noodles. You usually don't want to eat those, as they are too filling as an appetizer and take away from the main course. Crispy noodles seem to be endemic to the USA though.
Everyone from my family loves dinning at Liang's Bistro. We have been regular customers for a long time. I disagree with the other reviewer whom had mentioned regarding their mangement. Our experiences have been the opposite. They always make us feel so comfortable and happy every single time we dine there. The manager, Linda, is SUCH A NICE LADY. She greets us with a smile with no exception. My three kids love the restaurant. That's THE resturant we pick to host our family gatherings since we trust the quality of their service.
I have never eaten such good Asian food in my entire life! I would give it ten stars if they had it. I thought the service was excellent and the place was clean, but small. My whole experience was wonderful. They should francise it.
Liangs Bistro has the worst managers I have ever met.
Both Linda Le and Chen are impolite and rude.
Last time a went I ask my server why there were so many new faces working there, my server proceded to tell me that it was because the horrible new manager Chen. No one could work with him because of his unprofessional attitude so they all quit. Also if linda is his daughter I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree. Last time I ordered some orange chicken I found a long piece of hair in my food when i told the manager chen he just walked away and gave me no response. Then i walked up to hi and told him again he simply said im to busy and he can not deal with it. So ithen told my server it took it to the back and told chen again. I saw threw the glass chen sticking his hand in the food pulling out the hair the told my server to bring it back out. I used to eat ther twice a week but now i can assure you i will never eat there again.
