Kampong Mawat relives the days of the legendary Princess Mahsuri who was wrongfully accused and executed for a crime she did not commit. The village was constructed as a tribute to the legend that has made Langkawi famous. Today, this village attracts tourists in droves. Here, you will find Mahsuri's Masoleum, a house similar to the one she once lived in and Mahsuri's Well, located near the Masoleum. Visitors can get a taste of traditional Langkawi life, complete with musicians playing traditional songs and friendly village ladies preparing delicious Langkawi delicacies.
