One of the older shopping complexes, the KOMTAR is a conveniently located downtown landmark. Anchor tenants include Parkson Ria, a branch of the Parkson chain of department stores, and Koperasi Pasaraya Johor Bahru, a small supermarket. An assortment of other trades and conveniences such as clothiers, money changers, drugstores, corner eateries, an Internet cafe and an amusement arcade can also be found here. The complex is popular among lower-income earners and transit travelers.
