Same food as Taco Bell, just on a nicer plate with lots of shredded iceberg lettuce. Chips and salsa are good, likely a good place to go for a drink as the bar looks excellent. The food, on the other hand, is bland, dry and completely uninspired.
I don't know what it used to be like, but you would have to be drunk to find something nice to say now. We were there last night and it was the worst service and Mexican food we have ever had. Service was terrible and rude. Got all the orders wrong and when we explained that the order was wrong he tried to argue with us. When my daughter finally got the right order, there was gum (yes, chewed gum) in her food container. The food tasted like it might have been prepared the day before. I am convinced this restaurant does not think they need our business. Fine. We will certainly never be back.
Vallarta's used to be my favorite restaurant, but the food has gone downhill over the past 4 years. I always order the same meal, the taco, chili relleno combo. I was used to the poblano pepper getting smaller every time I visited, but this last visit was the last straw. I had a dime sized piece of poblano pepper, the chips were burnt, and the refried beans were runny and completely bland. I am very sad that my once beloved restaurant has cut costs to the point that their food has been compromised. I am hopeful that I will be able to find a Mexican restaurant that serves good, tasty food. Adios Vallarta's
Vallartas is literally one of, or THE BEST Mexican Restaurants around. Don't listen to that JD93055 person because obviously they haven't truly experienced authentic mexican food. The one on Dale Mabry is a lot better than the one on Anderson (food wise) and the one on Anderson is better than the one on Dale Mabry (party wise). Great food! Great service!
horrible food, horrible service. food had zero taste, bland, and cold. the best part was the salsa served when you sit down for your meal. our entire party ate maybe 2 bites of their dinner before we paid the bill and left. we actually went to another place and had a great meal and drinks. stay as far away from vallartas on anderson as you can!
