Cultural Park, Vientiane

Easily reached by bus, this park is a pleasant place to spend the day. Over 20 hectares of parkland adjoin the banks of the Mekong River. The park is home to many caged animals and birds, most of which are in captivity due to the threat of extinction. There are restaurants and picnic areas, Buddhist images and a large central stage. Be here for sunset and the stunning views it provides. Traditional Lao song and dance is often performed here so check locally for the best day to go.
