El Torito, Yokohama-Shi

Where to begin? Incredibly packed on a Saturday afternoon... no worries, that's to be expected. Being seated and waiting 20 minutes between our drinks order to when they took our food order? To make matters worse we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive, it was when we told the manager we were leaving that he went back and miraculously our food showed up. Worst part: no offer to compensate other than a mildly apologetic "Gomen". Food quality? If you are a fan of run of the mill tex-mex then you will enjoy El Torito and the blandness of it's flavors. My recommendation: Save your money and head to Harajuku's "La Fonda de la Madrugada" for the best Mexican food in Japan, maybe even all of Asia.

I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC AND THE VEIW WOW! THE WAIT CAN BE LONG BUT IT IS SO WORTH THE WAIT. WHEN EVER I MEET SOMEONE NEW TO JAPAN I TELL THEM ABOUT IT. THE PRICES ARE GREAT. THEY ALSO HAVE A KIDS MENU SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE LITTLE ONES. THE STAFF IS SO NICE AND THEY DO SPEAK ENGLISH, WHEN YOUR DONE THERE IS COSMO WORLD RIGHT THERE SO IF YOU BROUGHT THE KIDS THEY CAN HAVE FUN. I CAN NOT SAY ANYTHING BAD BECAUSE EVERYTIME WE HAVE BEEN IT'S BEEN FANTASTIC.

We went for an early dinner on a Saturday night w/ out reaervations! We were still seated with a window view. :) I say it was Amazing for being all the way here in Japan. It Reminded me of American Mexican for sure! I loved the price... 1450 for a NICE size plate of 3 choices & it included a drink. Best of all... it could be a reg ole soda/tea or a 'adult' drink (only a small size). It was just so wonderful, and i cant wait to go back with my hubby on Date Night. (dress code? CASUAL!)

I loved the view and the fajitas on the lunch menu were really good too. The best part was the limitless tortillas. They were so fresh and warm.

I read a review stating that this place was a little taste of the states since it is a US chain. Well the hot sauce was weak, with no free refill, the portions where horrible for the price, yes they were american size on the menu but when the meal comes to the table wha wha whaaaaaaaaa! So my advice just stay at home and make it yourself or wait till you go back to the states. oh yeah 7.50 for a tecate a whole case costs 7.50!

El Torito in the Yokohama Sky building has great mexican food with a fantastic view of Yokohama. Prices are affordable for Japan. The salsa in absolutely amazing.

The tacos had very little meat, but I can reccomend the other entrees, especially the enchiladas and fajitas. The margaritas are the best you'll find in Japan. Go on someone's birthday, and they'll play a birthday song and bring out the dessert with sparklers! Great place for a special occasion with the family!

I absolutely loved El Torito in Yokohama. What a nice treat for Americans living in Japan. The restaurant is often filled with foreigners from all countries who have found this little treasure hidden up on the 28th floor of the Sky building. This restaurant was one of my favorite places for a great meal. Compared to the United States, the prices were high, but when compared to the local Japanese market, very fair. I highly recommend for everyone.
