Happy Cock, Fukuoka-Shi

I first went to Happy Cock seven years ago when I was an exchange student. At the time it was the most packed out club in the city and the line was often down the street. We used to go every weekend in a big group of foreign and Japanese students. It was the only club where they priced their drinks and entry fee at a level we could afford on a limited student budget.I remember many crazy wild fun nights there. Back in town on my honeymoon after a seven year gap a decided to see if the place was still ther. In the club world clubs come and go so I wasn't hoping for too much. Imagine my surprise and delight when we saw that it was still open and not only that but it was still going great guns!! The crowd was a little bit older than I remember, from early twenties to early thirties but that suited us just fine (I'm 29). They had made many changes within the club as to be expected and they were all good ones. There are more toilets now and the light system they have is awesome. There was a strong international crowd and a really good vibe throughout. My missus got up and danced on the bar with some of her friends and said it was amazing to look down on the crowd below. The bartenders were all foreigners and real friendly and quick with the drinks. We bought an all you can drink partypass bracelet for a very reasonanble 3000 yen for me and only 2000 for my wife. We could order anything off the menu and it was good for the whole night, PLUS we found out that they had opened another Happy Cock just down the road and the Party Pass included entry and all drinks there aswell! Needless to say we checked out the other Happy Cock and found it was just as packed out as the original. It was really good to see that the place was thriving because the other bars and clubs we saw seemed to really have been affected by the bad Japanese economy. Whatever the Happy Cock has they should bottle it or even better open a bar in Boston - me and the wife will be waiting!!
