Old Jewish Cemetery (The), St Andrews

This was our second time to the Decameron Hotel and being on the 4th floor we had a great view of the cemetery next door. There was a homeless person living there and we found it quite amusing to watch him. While there I took as many pictures of the headstones as I could. I did not go into the homeless man's space to take the ones near him. If anyone is interested in family history I have copies of all the stones I could find. Very interesting cemetery, will return in a few years.

Me and my girlfriend (now wife) stayed in Montego Bay in 2004 and we saw this cemetery. We are jewish and felt comfortable going inside. The cemetery was in decay, although peaceful. When we went inside, some guys (that worked there or next door) asked us what we were doing. We told them we were jewish and they let us go inside. It was very nice with a big tree in the middle. Lots of tomb stones fallen over with names and dates half readable. We looked around, put some stones ontop of graves (customary) and then said a prayer and left. I am glad we went inside.

have stayed right next door twice and did not know it was a cemetery. i have a picture of a bum sleeping on a tomb. i have not seen any tours where you would pay to see, but if offered don't pay. it is really in poor shape.
