Trattoria Tre Marchetti, Verona

There are very few restaurants that could match the standards of this trattoria—the staff is extremely courteous, the cuisine is classical and the decor, crockery, cutlery and glassware exceed the norm for a trattoria. Dishes include Prawn Salad, bigoli with tomato and aubergine, Fettucine with Porcini Mushrooms and truffles, squid, beef steak with truffles and a rocket salad with Grana cheese. The dessert menu includes Crême Brûlee with zabaglione and chocolate sauce and Tiramisù. The wine list, written on parchment, is another delight.
