Our best meal in Italy
I had read good reviews, so we booked a place on Friday night. It didn't look like much from outside, but inside it had a warm rustic look. The staff was very welcoming.
The opera was about to start at the Arena nearby, so at 9:00 PM, the place was only half full. Our waiter spoke good English, and explained that there was no menu, and gave us an overview of what to expect. Then the feast began! Course after course of delicious food - never too much, always beautifully presented, and served by a very curteous staff. The food came at a steady pace, but we by no means felt rushed. At the end of the meal, a dessert trolley was rolled to the table with about a dozen choices - and the staff was happy to give a sampler of several. This was followed by complimentary drink.
This restaurant is not for the budget traveller, but it did not break the bank. You can cut corners if you skip the wine, dessert or coffee, but I recommend the full experience. I will definitely return.
