Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, Clearwater

A place that is crowded, and known for great bbq, I was extremely pleased by the steaks there. The wine sauted mushrooms were so tasty, I order them as a side dish, The COMBO meals are wonderfully priced and the BRISKET is the best I have ever tasted. Just do not plan on quick seating if 1) the Phillies are in town 2) there is a great sports game on or 3) a nice warm evening...dinner waits can be long. Their booths are also not "big people" friendly but the restuarant is on the top of my list to take out of towners!

Excellent bbq, I haven't found anyone in florida with good, well made bbq. Best place around hands down. I would love to buy into this place because its that good. There needs to be more of them around like chill's or applebee's. they just are SO freaking good. try it. anyone know where i can find coupon book with smokey bone is it.email at maxine2005@yahoo.com subject smokey bone coupon.that would be sweet. we eat there atleast once a month if not 2.we have out date night with out friends and we all go to smokey bones, and we live in saint petersburg. its worth the drive. I once went there with my father in law and the order the stake because he was on a diet, and i order the 3 meat and added meat to take home(i alway order more so i have food to eat for 2 more meals). and my husband ordered ribs and add brisket. well anyways my father in law ate his whole stake before i even finished my side of beans, so he started eatting off my husband and my plate. he ate his whole meal and half of each of our meals. and still wanted more because he just LOVED it. its been YEARS since he has had good bbq. And smokey bones gives you MASSIVE size meals. its well worth it. I've never had a bad service, and if by any chance that you do have bad service don't take it oout on the food try again with a different waiter/waitress.

This is by far the absolute best barbeque in the area..Believe me I know Barbeque..I am from the greatest place on the planet for barbeque..Kansas City... Enjoy a great dinner there!!!

Went to Smokey Bones in Clearwater this week. BBQ was absolutely fantastic! Beer special was a 22 oz Kilian's Red for $2.50. Started with the chicken wings - frankly, the best wings ever! These are BBQ'd; not fried with just Buffalo sauce. Definately try the chicken wings as you won't regret it! Had the full rack of baby back ribs - 12 bones, could only eat 4 and took the rest home. Wife had the larger ribs. All the ribs were fantastic and I was glad to have a doggie bag. Waitress even include their excellent BBQ sauce in the doggie bag. I give Smokey Bones the highest rating on food. Service was very, very good (not the best, but we weren't lacking for anything). Atmosphere is very good for a BBQ joint, but not that great for a sit down restaurant. Bar was good - 10 TV's with sports games on. If you love BBQ, you'll love the food at Smokey Bones!

We went there on Saturday 4/11/09 around 4 pm. Business was slow but they still gave us a buzzer and made us wait. We opted to sit at the bar. We watched the staff meander around and talk to each other while we waited. There were more staff then customers at this point. We ordered and the food came quick and was as expected. At least the kitchen has its act together. The brunswick stew was fantastic, but my brisket sandwich was mostly fat. The wife and I decided later we wouldn't be going back. I've been there before and service has been better. I am disappointed because it could have been so much more, but instead service was bad and the food wasn't great.

My husband and I eat at Smokey Bones about once a month. Each and every time, it has been a good experience. The ribs are great and their customer service has always been more than just adequate. The servers are sincere and polite. I would highly recommend this restaurant if your in the mood for some good BBQ.

When the family had our yearly reunion in Florida, some of us decided to stop in Smokey Bones! What a delightful surprise it was. Everyone found something on the menu! Plenty of good value, fast, friendly service. Highly recommended. You get more than enough food here!

My Wife and I ate there with a two for one coupon. Ribs were not that tasty but there was a lot of them. Soft drinks were very expensive. French fries and Baked potato were really cold by the time we finished. I think they are a little over rated. If I go back it will be just for the Chill Hour.

This place is great! Their chicken is so succulent it falls apart! And their twisted Timbers, whoa! So good! Very polite staff, upbeat atmosphere

Love this place, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. love the atmosphere . They are famous for their ribs which are so tender and succulent. Make sure you save room for desert. Their apple cobbler and fresh hot donuts in sugar are so good. This place gets 10 stars from me.
