Birilli, Turin

Just across the river where the streets begin to go uphill towards the villas, in s nice fin de siecle district, there's a city food landmark, where generations of Turinese came to eat out. The Birilli bros. offer a traditional cuisine, not strictly local, but good quality and reasonably priced. Try the antipasti, the pastas are good, and some of the meat courses are delicious. Good wine list. Very crowded at the weekend.
