In Via Giovanni Dupre, a few steps from Piazza del Campo (leaving the Campo as you pass Piazza del Mercato), you can descend a flight of stairs and find yourself in this small but pleasant restaurant. Divided into small rooms, it has stone vaults typical of the old town centre and flagged floors. The food is varied and not just Tuscan in style. There is also pizza. Recommended are the tagliolini with pesto sauce, gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, and truffle soup. Also roast rabbit with pine seeds.
