Ristorante Pappagallo, Bologna

The portions were minuscule, reflecting the overwhelming greed of the owners. My first course, lasagna verdi, cost 14 Euros (US$ 19.88) and was barely large enough to feed a 10-year-old child. The real gyp of the evening was my second course, "lamb chops", which consisted of two TINY lamb chops each no bigger than a US silver dollar, attached to a pathetically-small bone and containing one small bite of meat per chop. This joke was presented on a large plate, amplifying the inequity of my being charged a whopping 24 Euros (US$ 34.08): equal to about US$ 545 per pound for the meat actually provided. After paying, I reamed-out the manager mercilessly, and it was sheer pleasure to wipe the smirk off his face. Avoid this dreadful restaurarant like the proverbial plague!

A few comments to start off - i last visited this place about 8 years ago (and i am just now writing a review). I am hoping nothing changed, but that is unlikely. Of course...it could be even better. We loved this place. We went (the first time) around 2pm and started with an appetizer and ended up staying for hours and eating and drinking. The waiters were great. We had their full attention at this hour. It is worthwhile to note that the prices at this hour are HALF of the dinner prices.
