A spacious, bustling pub and much more besides, Paris Texas offers both quality food in the bar, and a slightly more expensive restaurant that is open from 6pm onwards. The emphasis is largely on Tex-Mex, but it seems that there is little that the menu doesn't contain. Paris Texas serves what is undoubtedly the finest chilli in the south east, and if the food appears a little rough-and-ready and times, well, that's all part of the charm. Warmly recommended.

Not bad at all

Was packed for a Tuesday due to graduation so I wasn't able to try out any of the food, but they had great music. Everyone was dancing and having a time, and the service was excellent at the bar. Met a lot of lovely locals and had good conversations.

was in kilkenny with a few of the girls, and said we'd try this place out for something to eat, so loved the place great value for money, we left to go gt changed and came back for the nite time, we had great craic there as it was a saturday nite it was busy but the bar staff were very effiecent. wuld go back in a heartbeat

Never again

I was in Paris Texas with some mates for a stag party and I would never go back there again. The food was mediocre and seemed to be an afterthought to the bar area. The place was full of very drunken jocks and there was a lot of aggression. Won't be in a hurry to return.

bad monday

food was reheated, even the chips. the place is gone very grotty and dirty. its a pity as it used to be so nice.... my chips were reheats and the lettuce garnish was completely brown and rotting. im not exaggerating, i couldn,t believe it. my wife,s dinner was no better... such a shame, cutbacks im sure...

We had to do it

Since we're from Texas, we had to eat at the Paris, Texas, restaurant in Kilkenny, Ireland. We talked with the owner who explained that he liked the movie of that name. I just added a picture of the front of the restaurant to Flikr. Jeanne Brynie

Have been in paris texas on quiet a few occasions and i would reccomend it to anyone. we always have a great time either when we eat or have a few drinks.... always sees to have the same staff everytime we go which is a great sign in these times.

Definitely will go back

We were in on a Friday night and after nearly a week in Kilkenny with great meals this topped the bill. Beef burgers are homemade and a definite must if your stopping in. Staff were all extremely friendly, had a laugh with Jason and Padraig. Would recommend a visit if your in the area

Went for food during the daytime menu and found it awfull. Really bad quality meat, overcooked soggy vegetables all covered in a slop of gravy - might be a good spot to get drunk in and dance to bad music but really terrible place for food - never again
