Nuremberg's newest Sushi-bar is an understated tribute to the 1970s. As the name already reveals, the front of the restaurant is dominated by a big glass window. The bar itself is always busy and you'll be lucky to find a seat. The outside seating-area is lovely but just as busy. You would be well-advised to book in advance. If you want to explore different foods without abandoning your European tastes from one minute to the next, then Sushi Glas is just the place for you. You can get to know Japanese cuisine at your own pace. All ingredients are fresh and can be admired at the counter. This restaurant is a real delight for eyes and palates.
I have been to Sushi Glass over 50 times...and i cant stop going..I love the place, and the service. Everytime I go, they have a new sushi roll on the menu. I have been to more sushi resturants in europe then in the usa..and i must say sushi glass is my favorite.
i went there for lunch today with one friend of mine...we paid 50 euros for the sashimi...it wasn't that good and in my opinion not a lot for the money...i really don't understand why people love this overpriced sushi...after finishing our meal we went straight to mc donalds because we were still hungry...
While the sashime was good, the service was rude and unfriendly.
We had to wait for almost an hour after we asked for the check to finally be able to pay.
Forget refills on drinks, or any additional needs.
Price service ratio is way off
Some people lament the price, but when your hard pressed for good sushi-it's worth it. I've suffered attempts at sushi and sashimi to include an experience with frozen, yes still crunchy with the ice crystals, tuna and mackeral you can smell on the way to you from the kitchen.
The food is fresh, as it should be, but as I said previously-some places don't make this a requirement. The display is appealing and they are flexible to cater to your taste.
Sushi Glas has a unique preparation of squid, tear drop cuts instead of the standard lateral slashes, that made this move from the bottom of my list to the top.
I always found a seat during the winter and with the outdoor seating in the summer-it's seemingly unlimited. They are on a limited traffic route so cars are a rare nuisance and there's a public parking structure within a few blocks of the restaurant.
The only draw backs are the appetizer menu, limited, and dessert menu, average. Still tasty and a definite recommend for those in the market for sashimi or sushi.
