A saying goes that you if haven't sat on the banks of the River Neckar, you haven't seen Heidelberg. The Neckarwiese, or Neckar Park, is a ribbon of green which stretches along the river for several kilometers. Popular with joggers and picnickers, the park is the perfect place to relax after a hard day's sightseeing. While it can get very busy in the summer, if you come here in the winter, you will find yourself all alone watching the mist slowly shroud the castle in a bewitching silver cloak.
