Zum Goldenen Schaf
Description
Eating at this restaurant is a bit like eating in a museum, for it has been serving guests since 1749. Furthermore, each room of the house is decorated with period furnishings, arts and artifacts, and guests are welcome to tour the premises. (There are two quite good collections of historical musical instruments and famous medieval codices in facsimile.) One highlight are the regular theme evenings, where the master of the house, Karl Harald Kischka, Ph.D., entertains with wit and insight. The food is regional and European, and is prepared reliably well and served with care. When the rest of the beer gardens in Heidelberg are closed, check out the one at this restaurant.
Anything German is wonderful here. Atmosphere so nice, go early to miss the crowds.
Waiters very attentive and fun.
A great place to duck into out of the cold.
The food was delicious and the ambiance charming. It's a cozy and romantic jewel. It's located on the main street, which makes it very convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful.
