Description
The first people to settle on this piece of land in the middle of Bornheim were the Romans. Several centuries later, a castle was built on top of the ruins, although this was later turned into a farm. The land was bought by the Rothschild family - a wealthy family of bankers - in the 19th Century, and they proceeded to erect a palace on the grounds. The palace didn't survive the next century of turmoil, but the lovely tree-lined park did. A favorite haunt for families with children, the park now contains a fountain with plunge pool.
