Description

A few blocks from Petco Park, a cafe and wine bar, decorated in soft lighting and mahogany wood floors, with a pearl white bar, creates the right ambiance for Cafe Chloe. A large doorway splits two dining rooms, and in both, floor to ceiling windows are framed by mahogany sills. On those warms days, the windows open onto a small patio, which wraps around the corner cafe. And for a little extra privacy, guests can walk through the smaller dining area, and up a short flight of stairs, where they can enjoy a more intimate setting, set apart from the clinking glasses and evening banter. - Erick Pettersen

It is hard to find restaurants that serve food based on the expectation you have from the country of origine. So many places have Steak/Frites on the menu and boy is it not what you expect. But here you get the taste and flavor of a true french bistro steak/frites. Food was very well presented and had the flavors you would expect, cafe de Paris butter on the top was perfect! Not a fancy or big place - but a most go to...

Cafe Chloe is a real find. The food was wonderful and the service quite lovely, attentive but not fawning. The steak/frites and moules/frites are outstanding. Don't miss the bittersweet chocolate pot de creme - divine. It's a small place with small tables - very bistro in atmosphere. I saw the staff deal with a complaining diner and they were marvelous, which is the true test of a great restaurant in my opinion. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Good wine list, incredible mac and cheese. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. Adorable deco and a good location too.

Cafe Chloe is a fun place. We had a delicious brunch outside, enjoying the great weather San Diego has to offer. From the bread, to the pate, to the mussels, to the mac and cheese (which is a must to try) to the locally brewed beer, everything was tremendous. Our waitress was helpful and always available, but not obtrusive. Cafe Chloe is a real gem.

This place is a charmer. Close your eyes and you're eating in Paris. Wines are a bit pricey, but the food is excellent--especially their fabulous gorgonzola macaroni and cheese. If you have a large party take over the back room and enjoy. It's lovely for a romantic dinner as well. Snuggle up to your sweetie with a a couple of glasses of Bordeaux and enjoy.

Cutest little cafe ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/08
This is the cutest little cafe in San Diego! Their French bread was really good, gooey and crunchy all at once. The portions were just right, and the atmosphere was quaint.

Fabulous French bistro fare, and the best frites in town. Great happy hour specials.

I would not recommend anyone to eat here...yes it is "kind of cool" looking but seriously the food is not anything special it is only OKAY and that is being nice....the service is not very good either. AND YOU WILL NEVER FIND ANY PARKING ANYWHERE. Too many other good quality restaurants in the same area, felt like I wasted my money and will never go again.
