Runoilijan Tie
Description
Runoilijan Tie, the Poet's Way is a regular ship route, along which the steamboat S/S Tarjanne travels from Tampere to the north and back on certain days of the week. The name is derived from the Finnish national poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg's trips to Ruovesi. The over old steamboat used to carry cargo and local traffic passengers but nowadays it only carries summer travelers. A commentary on the route is available in Finnish, Swedish, English and German. Check website for more details.
Atmosphere aboard the old steamer was fantastic as was the scenery. They played old Finnish Music onboard. It's rather expensive but it's still worth the money.
