Unless you like having expensive meals inside a loud night club, avoid Osetra on Thu-Sat evenings!
The place was recommended and we enjoyed it right up until the restaurant became a club with a horrible DJ (train wrecks, volume all over the place, nearly blew his own speakers out with feedback). This broke the spell on what had otherwise been a great evening. There was no warning at all that our fine dining experience would become a cheap night club.
And, yes, I tried talking to the management about it that night, the next day and twice since then, but they don't feel like returning my calls. C'est la vie, but, in the long run, this simply makes me more frustrated.
I have asked the concierge that recommended Osetra to be aware that this place turns into a night club Thu-Sat and to *not* recommend it to anyone wanting to have a good dining experience unless they like eating inside a loud nightclub.
Ostera had THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! A friend and I went to the bar for a glass of wine and to order dinner approximately 6 months ago. We were appropriately dressed and demonstrated appropriate behavior. After 20 minutes of not being acknowledged we left. We have not been back since, have no plans of returning, and have spread the word. San Diego is a very small town and in time I believe that this will affect their reputation. Shame on you!
