Puzhaolou Vegetarian Restaurant, Xiamen

In keeping with the Nanpuoto Temple's Buddhist tradition this inexpensive eatery serves only vegetarian fare. The menu offers such dishes as pine mushrooms with red and green peppers, black fungus soup with tofu, rice noodles with mushrooms, and yams with seaweed to list a few. Inexpensive local beer is also offered. Despite the Buddhist leanings the restaurant is surprisingly dapper with tables cloaked in white tablecloths.
