Shenyang Botanical Garden, Shenyang

Opened in 1959, this exceptionally green patch of land rates as one of Shenyang's showcase attractions. More than 1,000 species of flowers, trees, and shrubs grace the grounds, meshing perfectly with the ponds and ornate bridges that dot the landscape. There are eight gardens in all, with one completely devoted to azaleas, creating a visual spectacle of color when in bloom. The garden was also host to the 2006 International Horticultural Expo. Once the expo was finished, many of the exhibits continued to be on display as part of the garden's permanent collection, including the Lily Tower with its incredible panoramas and an amusement park complete with roller coasters. The garden also shares space with the Shenyang Steam Exhibition Hall . Take a train from either the North or South Train Stations in Shenyang to get here.
