The Vintage Locomotive Society, which formed in 1968 to restore old rolling stock and operate a museum, is comprised entirely of volunteers. The Prairie Dog Central was their first project and is now the oldest steam-powered locomotive operating in North America. Take the two-hour, 45-kilometre tour with stops in Warren and Grosse Isle, where town residents organize craft and bake sales and visitors can take in various rustic attractions. Advance reservations are recommended.
