Description

Kings Head is an authentic English style pub with an incredible array of domestic and imported beer to suit any taste. The food goes beyond the normal fish and chips with an excellent curry menu from an authentic Indian kitchen. The diverse crowd that packs this establishment is offered darts, billiard tables and live music on weekends to amuse themselves while they sample the great brews. Memberships are required to enter the pub, but these cost a paltry five dollars and are available at the door.

Don't have anything marked \"hot\" on the menu.
By Mayalucretia, 5/11/10
I like it hot. I regularly add pepper sauce to my food, and I grew up eating West/East Indian. When I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo (hot), I expected a pleasant level of heat. What I got was an eye-watering, mouth/sinus burning, unedible plate of food. Mixing the lamb & sauce with the provided rice didn't cool things down. Neither did the papadam. After 5 bites I gave up. This stuff burned ALL the way down, if you catch my drift. Staff was adamant. "This is how we *always* make our vindaloo", and offered me yoghurt to assist choking the stuff down (No thanks!) rather than something else off the menu or a partial refund. I ended up going home hungry. My companion mentioned that his butter chicken wasn't much better. All in all, pretty poor menu preparation and service. On the plus side, they have a great selection of local micro brewery beers, and the menu prices are reasonble. Just stick to the usual bar fare - beers, sandwiches, burgers and fries - which have always been consistently edible.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/09
Reason why i like this pub so much is because it isn't so hoatie toatie. People are friendly and the service is the best in town. Butter chicken is awesome too!

Sticky and Smelly
By amanda c, 3/13/08
The floor was disgusting, I think it was carpet at one time. The upstairs stunk like b.o. Drinks there are ok. Some staff are very unfriendly.

Awesome pub!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/18/08
I really liked the atmostphere of the pub, very friendly people and great music! Pub has two levels, one down stairs is more of the meeting area, while the up stairs has the band and pool tables.

Long time regular.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/3/07
Till I moved out of the province the King's Head used to be my mainstay. After work at least two times a week and Friday nights for sure. The staff are all amazing, the owner's a real great guy and either him or his wife are on staff every night to take care of the place. The food is good, the beer selection is excellent and the prices are definetly competitive. Stop by for a pint if you ever get a chance, it's the first place I go to whenever I'm back in Winnipeg.

A well good time at the Kings Head
By Dallas, 3/11/07
Great selection of imported beers from the UK and beyond. Rather plentiful food menu to go with that. The motif was authentic and genuinly english as english can be when not in England. Football scarfs, atmosphere, the people, the entertainment was all superb. Hit the piss with the lads and watch the football highlights over a tall glass of the UK's finest draught at the Kings Head.

Awesome!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/06
Loved the the place! The music was great and the people were great. Very friendly atmosphere. Very cool for a pub. When my pops told me about it i imagined a bunch of drunk old timers, but the croud was young and fun. Good place to play pool.

A Place I Could Call Home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/6/06
The moment I first entered the Kings Head I forgot I was in Canada. Strolling up to the bar where a friendly Irishman takes my order for a Karlsberg. The selection of draught is awesome, these boys know a good pour. I've now been coming to the Kings Head for 2 years, still my favorite bar in the city. The food selection is perfect to go along with my pint. Thanx Jay and the guys for making a place like no other in this place of many places.
