Buccacinos Cucina Italiana, Winnipeg

Have been to this restaurant in the past and have had good food however today was not one of those good days. We arrived at 10:30 am for the brunch and the food was cold...not luke warm...cold. We mentioned it to our server and she said that we should try again as they checked the heating elements and the food should be hot. We abandoned our platefuls of cold food and tried again. The eggs benedict were still cold, the "hot" pasta was cold, the pancakes and french toast were cold...only thing to get warmer were the potatoes and the sausages. When we were prepared to leave and received our bill we expected to be at least partially compensated for not being able to eat a full meal and the bill was not reduced. We asked for the manager and when she came she said that she had tested the food and it was hot and got quite confrontational when we said that she was sadly mistaken. The food was cold...not even lukewarm...but bloody cold! She definitely had an attitude and thought that taking our coffees off (the only item in the place that was hot) off our bills was good enough, not even close. I don't go out for brunch very often and was sadly disappointed by this. We were awaiting four other people and we called them and told them to go elsewhere. Which is where we will be going from now on.

Our prompt friendly service when we arrived proved to be a harbinger of things to come. The atmosphere is so warm, the service so genuine and the pastas we had were some of the best i've had in this city! Oh... don't forget to try the calamri. BK

The food was so great, and the server and manager were genuinely interested on how I was enjoying my dining experience. They had a warm, and enjoyable atmosphere, with a view of their wine selection, a cozy fireplace,full mouthwatering description of food choice, and the opportunity for enjoyment of an entire dining experience, or a casual glass of wine and an appetizer.
