A long-time favorite, this restaurant offers fine Chinese cuisine in an intimate, low-light setting. A giant lunchtime buffet offers a sampling of food at a reasonable cost. The service is efficient and good suggestions are made on food that patrons may not be familiar with. Regular Canadian-Chinese food is available, including Chicken Balls and Beef Chow Mein, but for a taste of the exotic try the Sharks Fin Dumplings. Its location in Chinatown ensures a high standard for this ethnic cuisine.
When I walked in I loved the ambience. Very fancy. Ended up stuffing 2 people and taking home enough for another 2. All great food with soup, etc. Bill comes...only $25!! You can't eat in a dumpy Chinese restaurant for that! Very pleased.
Tiny buffet, cold food that tasted like it was from a can, dried food on most plates, and very poor service. None of the dishes were luke warm at best-most were down right cold. The place was simply gross. The parking lot was also a great irritant. It was packed, but no one was in the restaurant. I couldn't wait to get away from this hole. Total garbage. Why didn't I just get sushi from the gas station near my house? If you're considering eating at this place, consider yourself warned. Oh God! There goes my stomach.
Had a horrible experience made even worse by terrible customer service. Most bad experiences can be significantly improved if handled appropriately by an establishment. In our case, our concerns could have easily been placated by a simple gesture on their part. We ended up dealing with the owner who had absolutely no service skills or etiquette, and actually blamed his staff for the error and said that if we wanted the dish that we were missing he would have to charge his staff member - who did not place our order properly - for it! Food is decent but nothing fantastic, definitely not worth the terrible service. We will never go back here with so many other fantastic Chinese food options in Winnipeg.
I like Golden Terraces' specialty dim sum dish. I can't choose between the bun long shaped sweet bun, or teh shrimp filled shell shaped dim sum, both are great and I always order them when we go there.
Great and Authentic. Now called Golden Terrace Restaurant.(King St)

Great all around. Food is great, service too. It's a little bit habit forming. There is alot of space in the place, so it is never crowded. The restaurant has now changed it's name to The Golden Terrace though I am told that it still employs the same cooks and wait staff. It's also good for family functions in the banquet hall below. Recommended.
We went for the noon Buffet at the restaraunt on Osborne street and the food was terrible. The ribs were tough and tasted fowl and full of gristle.chicken dish was tasteless and the noodles were overcooked.
The only redeeming factor was the waitress who went out of her way to make our vist enjoyable. She was spectacular.
I have been a patron of Marigold for many years and was very dissapointed with this visit. It was definately not up to the high standards we usually find with you
