Ichiban, Winnipeg

I wasn't overly fond of sharing our table with others at first, but soon realized that sharing is part of human compassion. What better way to meet new people!! The food was absolutely amazing (that 14 oz filet mignon is absolutely HUGE!!!) The chef was quite animated and there was no doubt he was an expert in his craft. It is on the expensive side, but worth every penny. I will be going back the next time i'm in Winnipeg!!

We have gone to this resaurant many times over the years and have always had good service and excellant food. Some chefs are more entertaining then others, but we have not experienced any that are bad. We have celebrated several birthdays and anniversaries here as well as just a different evening out. We drive up from the states to visit Winnipeg and we often end up with a meal at Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse as part of our trip.

I just came home from one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I made reservations one week prior to arriving for my 7:00 pm dinner. After waiting 35 minutes to get a table for for 6 we were seated with 3 drunk additions to our table. We were not told we had to be seated with other people. Due to the fact we had 2 seniors with us I complained. After being treated rudely by not only the manager but also by one of the servers I was extemely upset.During our meal one of the servers asked if we order some other alchol. We said we did not order any other alcohol. When the bill came they added the other drink to our bill. I was forced to go once again to the manager to try and fix this situation. After spending $250.00 for dinner I can honestly say I was thoroughly discusted. I will never return to this poorly operated establishment and if this is the way they treat their customers I will never recommend Ichi Ban to anyone. Sorry to complain but we go out for dinner quite often and they ruined our dining experience.
