portion small and service slow
By ,
The service was very slow. After half an hour later, the server finally took our order and it took another 45 minutes to get our food. The food was ok. We ordered the deep fried squid with 5 spices and it was awful. They should be embarass to serve over cooked tentacles of squid for $ 10.00. I also found that they were very overpriced in comperason to other sushi restaurant. Service was very slow and poor!

I dine here almost exclusively!!!!
By ,
I loved the food first and foremost and i also like the grade of service. If you want a place that serves sashimi well beyond high grade, this is the stop. Suggestion: try the butterfish, or tuna sashimi, you'll wonder why you ate anywhere else!!!!

The worst experience EVER!
By ,
What I did not like about Wasabi Sushi Bistro 105-121 Osborne Street Resturant was, Our food took over an hour to get. (It was only 5 rolls.) Not at any point did a manager come to our table. I had to ask to see the manager. When I began to tell the manager about our night, he was just insulting. He told me that if we wanted a discount on our bill he could do that, but if we are just telling him that we had a bad experience and we would never come back, that he was fine with that, and he did not care!!!! WOW! I was so mad I got up and left, my boyfriend paid our bill. I would never go back there for the way we were treated. ( Did I mention that our bill was for all of the food that took over and hour. Nothing was done to make our night better.) This was my worst dining experience of my LIFE!!!!!

Good vegetarian sushi
By ,
Wasabi has a vegetarian plate that includes miso soup, vegetarian sushi, and tempera. The sushi is really good and includes lots of different kinds of vegetables. The tempera is also very good, very light tasting, not oily like it is at some other locations. The only catches are that the food is pretty expensive, I think it's about $20.00 for that entree, and the portion is a bit small for someone with a fairly large appetite.

This is the best sushi I have ever had!
By ,
I loved all the variety and choices. There are some types I've never heard of anywhere else and they are amazing the only thing is they dont have the best staff there, but the food and atmosphere make up for it!

Best Sushi, Worst Service
By ,
The food at Wasabi (both locations) is excellent. It is definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in Winnipeg, but the service is sub-par for a restaurant of this caliber. If the food were not as good as it is I would have left multiple times. Great food, probably the worst service in Winnipeg.

My New Favourite Spot!
By ,
A friend and I went there to try something new and now we go back whenever we're in the city! The Wasabi in the village has a great atmosphere, funky and original and intimate. The service could be a little better but its usually it's so busy in there that they have a hard time keeping up. Besides, the food is more than worth the wait! I would wait twice as long and pay twice as much to eat at wasabi. There are so many things to choose from that we haven't eaten the same thing twice! The Sushi At Wasabi is Phenomenal

2 Wasabi's are in Wpg, and they offer not just sushi
By ,
I like the one on Osborne. Do the owners also own the one on west Broadway? Anyway, keep in mind that there's other Japanese food other than just sushi out there. If anyone's been to Japan, you'll know that ramen is popular. I don't think Wasabi has it though. But they do have oyakodon, and it's quite good. So is their nabeyakiudon.

Food is great...Service is Aweful
By ,
First of all, Wasabi can always be counted on for a great meal. The last 3 times I've been there though, the service has been absolutely horrible. There are other sushi places in Winnipeg (and even in the Village) that I will probably go to before I go back to Wasabi.
