Monti's Rotisserie & Bar
Located in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, Monti's welcomes you with its rustic Mediterranean ambiance. In addition to different nightly specials from the large wood-fired rotisserie, including CK Leg of Lamb and Liberty Farms Lavender Roasted Duck, Monti's menu offers both small and big plates that feature fresh local meats and seasonal produce. Also available are pizzas, pastas, salads and a selection of items from the raw bar. The well stocked wine cellar offers an extensive selection of wines, all available by the glass and there is a full bar. It's no surprise that this warm and inviting restaurant has become a neighborhood favorite since it opened in the summer of 2004. Patio dining is available.
Monti's is a wonderful place to eat! I have yet to have a bad meal there and I tend to dine with them frequently. The menu at Monti's tends to change seasonally.
No matter what I chose the dish is always prepared with excellent presentation, and distinctive flavor. The service is always great, as a matter of fact I was there two weeks ago on a Friday night and despite the fact that it was very busy the wait staff asked my friend and I if there was anything they could do to make us more comfortable several times. We closed Monti's down that night and we were treated with respect even though we decided to stay for coffee and desert...........make sure you can treat yourself to desert.
I love Monti's and I will continue to introduce my friends and family to this wonderful dining experience!
Thank you Monti's for always doing a wonderful job!
Monti's is located in Montgomery Village just off Farmers Lane in Santa Rosa. I am not sure I would recommend it for a romantic dinner, but the bar is a nice place to mix business with pleasure and attracts a nice over 30 crowd. Some call it the 2nd Real Estate Central, but there are those that would argue that distiction belongs to the Mixx. This is a good choice to sit at the bar and descretely discuss business over a nice glass of wine or a house martini.
Over-rated, Much Prefer Willi's Chef Lighter Touch

While this is a decent place for people watching if you're into that sort of thing, I was utterly disappointed with this place. The young hostess seemed 'like totally' self-absorbed, our waiter mediocre and the food ridiculously heavy and over-seasoned. I think the TGIF crowd would like the food here - it seems like an attempt at a gourmet version of that sort of heavy, smoky, cheesy food that for my palate obscures the nuance of truly fresh, local organic ingredients - lightly cooked & seasoned, Willi's Wine Bar (same owners) offers more of the latter.
A few weeks ago I took a couple of friends for a birthday lunch and was truly impressed with the whole experience. I haven't had the oppotunity to return and I find myself craving the food I ate there; looking for excuses to go back! We ate al fresco on one of Santa Rosa's last beautiful afternoons and lingered over a long and luxurious lunch. Service was attentive but not obtrusive, warm and friendly. The wine was good. The food was full-flavored and the portions generous but not obnoxiously super-sized. The warm spinach and shrimp salad knocked me out. We left completely satisfied. I need to go back before reviewing the entire menu - and I intend to. Don't even get me started on the desserts!
Had dinner at Monti's on Wednesday. I ordered the spit roasted lamb which was cooked perfectly and served over the best polenta. The service was lacking. We were seated right away, but it took our waitress about 1/2 hour to even take our order. Had to ask for bread. The time before that I ordered prime rib, extremely disappointing, very tough, I should have sent it back. The service was even worse that time. Had to ask for water. Had to ask for bread. Ordered wine, had to ask the waiter twice more. Finally realized he was too busy hanging out at the bar to bring it so we asked the bus boy and it finally arrived. We like the atmosphere and the food is usually pretty good, but the service needs improvement. Lunch service seems to be bette than dinner service. We want to keep coming back, come on people!
I've eaten here 3 times. Bambie has eaten here 15 times. She likes the place much more than me. I've had 2 enjoyable lunches here with booze drinks. (Full bar pours premium liquor), but the food is not spectacular, and the prices are high. So value score is low. The food is more American than Mediterranean. See the website menu. There is a rotisserie that roasts the chickens, those are good. Appetizer portions tend to be small. The deep fried calamari was okay, it had good batter crunch but the flavor was timid. The bistro-like dining room is dark, adds romance for dinner dates. The real draw here is the good looking staff, pretty waitresses and buff bartenders predominate. Location is Montgomery Village, a 1950's vintage shopping center that has high-end shops, & is kept immaculately clean. A nice place to dine, keep your food expectations reasonable and you'll be perfectly happy.
The Monti's reviews ahead of this are pretty critical, but things have changed. I visited Monti's in early August 2007. The crew remains very young and the room is fairly noisy, but the while thing worked well tonight.
We had wine, salads and main courses and were appreciative of the slick service from this young crew. The food was uniformly good and service was fast and smooth.
There's so much to choose from on this menu and several interesting specials. I would recommend Monti's based on tonight.
Not so good.
The service at this place is consistently terrible. The wait staff is too busy socializing to pay attention to the customers. It is a shame because it has potential and decent food. But terrible service is something that ruins a meal even if the food is ok.
I have been here several times and it is always the same. I would not go but it is near a spa that I like and I am often squeezed for time. Next time I will try the Thai place across the way or Michelle marie's instead.
