I drive by the Noodle House every day to and from work and have always wanted to try this place - after a long day I called and ordered the Papaya Salad and Pad Thai for take out. It was by far THE WORST Thai I have ever had. Raised in Southern CA, there is excellent Thai on every corner...this place is horrible - don t waste you time.
We were looking for lunch and noticed they had a parking spot open so we decided to give the place a try. We were happy with our lunch plates and I liked the free refills of thai ice tea with the lunch plates. If you want snappy service this is not your place since one guy was handling the entire place. He did a good job, but you had to wait for him to get to you.
The Thai Noodle House is actually pretty good. It is close to my office on the west side so we do lunch there often. It's funny that the person below didn't enjoy the duck soup - as the duck soup is my favorite dish. Order it with the vermiccelli noodles. The friend spring rolls are also delicious, as is their yellow curry prawn / chicken. After being there one hundred times come to think of it, those are the only four things I have ever eaten there.
The staff (who I think is the owner) is extremely friendly. He makes me want to eat there even more than I already do by his friendly smile and kind demeanor.
Sabieng or Thai Orchid (both on the same street) are better Thai dining options. The two times I've eaten here, the food has been mediocre. The tofu doesn't taste quite right, and the red curry tastes as if it has way too much ginger.
After reading an article online about the duck noodle soup, I was eager to try this dish. To my dismay, I was very disappointed. The duck was so terrible I had to spit it into my napkin. Also, there was very little meat and mostly fatty duck skin. The noodles stuck together because they were probably microwaved. Come to think of it, my boyfriend pointed out beeping and radiation noises of a microwave since we were sharing the wall with the kitchen. My boyfriend ordered the wonton and bbq'd pork noodle soup, however, it was marginally better. Perhaps the rice plates are better but I will definitely never order the noodle soups again.
