Located in the historic Aro Valley on Wellington's fringe, this cafe offers a varied international a la carte menu at moderate prices. The crisp clean cream paint job and the occasional retro ornament create a relaxed setting. Colour is added by the work of local artists. The varied dinner menu includes vegetarian dishes like Bulgar and Lentil Pilaf or Grilled Autumn Vegetable Haloumi on a Celeriac Risotto Cake. Breakfast menu weekdays and a tempting weekend brunch also available. Licensed, but you can bring your own wine.
I like the casual, neighbourhood atmosphere. It's a good meeting place with reasonable food prices. It used to have a very interesting menu, but haven't checked lately.
