We went there for a birthday party with a rather large group of about 15 people. The service was good, but the meats were not that great. I got some good cuts, but most of the people in our group were not satisfied at all because their meats were too chewy and tough.
My husband asked for Filet Mignon and they said they were getting it and they only brought around a couple of small pieces..not the ones wrapped in bacon and they were horrible..worst filet I've ever had. Must have been really cheap meat.
They never came around with pork. Oh..one person in our party was so busy eating the salad bar that by they time they were ready to eat the meats the servers stopped coming by our table.
Never a fan of any type of buffet but as that was only for the side dishes and the endless flow of perfect meats brought by the gouchos were consistently perfect... I'll give 4 stars... Just do not tell your cardiac specialist you ate here...
Man-O-Man, this place needs to change the entire staff, food was great, but the service is, what servise. Saturday night party of (8) with rsvr. @ 7:30 PM, we were on time, had to wait for 30 min before they sat us down. Meat was good, but we only got the cheap stuff, waited for fillet all night and never got it, our waiter (Herman) was not even around, told him about the fillet and he said I get right to it, never happened and I gave up asking. Everyone in my party was asking for well done meet and we could'nt find anybody to listen. So we said lets finish up and go, we ordered coffe and desert, cold coffe arrived in about 15 min. and desert plates did not hit our table for another 20 Min. and forget coffe refill. Anyways 2 hours of agony and $500.00 later we left the place, Hey the good part was that I asked to speak to the manager and the bartender told me we have two managers, Leo and Jacomo but he could not find them.
My husband has eaten are real churrascarias in Brazil, so when we found out about this place, he was quite excited. We went hungry, and he warned me not to fill up on the side items, because of the glorious and succulant meats that were to come.
The hot and cold buffet was very good, and I could have made an entire meal out of just that. The atmosphere was fun, with the waiters all dressed as gauchos, bringing around huge slabs of roased meats, which they sliced off for you at the table.
However, they would only slice of a tiny bit, and then you had to wait for another waiter to bring another around. For the first 10 minutes, they seemed to bring it pretty quickly. But after that, forget it. They brought some good meats, but they also brought by a lot of chicken, and cheaper cuts of meat.
I thought it was very good overall, but my husband said if it was located in Brazil, the restaurant would probably be closed down inside a week. He was very disappointed with the quality, and the pace at which they brought the meats by the table. And the price. We just had 2 dinners, soft drinks, and split an order of flan....and paid almost $120.
Good, but not that good.
Agora is possibly the best place you can eat! You get all the meats, and the full salad bar that has hot food, along with cold. The service is great they are always on top of everything. The only thing that is disappointing is the price of cocktails, its a little high. But, when you come to a place like this, you come to eat, not to drink! Definately come hungry, and leave stuft! I would definately recommend this restaurant to everybody, whether it be a business meeting, a romantic dinner, or a celebration its great for all.
The meats were fabulous; seasoned w/ just rock salt and medium rare to medium. The meats kept on coming around!!!!! The service was excellent; my cup of water never got more than half empty. Whoever said they only bring meats around once an hour or so is joking. We were there for only one hour; (lunchtime) and literally had each type of meat (around 10 types) brought by at least twice if not three times. Excellent food and service!
