unique stay overnight in a train car!
By mer mar, 1/9/12
We were passing thru Chattanooga on our way back home and decided last minute to try out the Choo Choo. Pleasantly surprised. This place is eye candy, especially the main entrance/terminal/reception. The train car was a trip. It was a little chilly, but that's to be expected and not a problem. The bed was warm and comfy. Shower was hot. Everything was clean and well-lit. Some might consider the Choo Choo to be a little dated, but that's what makes it all the more endearing. Indoor pool was the best, nice and warm! We will certainly be back.

Needs a facelift!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/11
We took our 4 year old grandchild and stayed in a train car. Room was in very poor condition. Pool was dirty and handrail into water was very wobbly. Overall, the place was in very bad condition. I would not go back and would not reccomend it to anyone.

Nasty.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/11
Looked like a crack house. Smell of sewage in lobby. Mode in room camode. Bathroom was filthy. Wall paper was up with thumb tacks. Ceiling panel was sagging in the room. Walls were dirty in the room. Did not stay & do not recommend. When I checked out ten minutes after checking in, desk clerk did not request reason for not staying. This tells me that the desire to correct the problem doesn't exist.

Gardens Restaurant very disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/09
We went there for lunch on a Wednesday. We waited over 30 minutes for very mediocre food. When we asked to talk to a manager, he offered no apology, and told us they had too many orders come in at the same time. There were very few full tables in the dining room, and the excuse was definitely insincere. Too much money for too much time spent wasting for not so great food.

Would never go again!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/09
The lobby was very nice but nothing else was. It was very dirty, wallpaper coming off the walls, ants in the bathroom, stains on the carpets, furniture didn't all match, trash in the halls and the elevator, elevator hasn't been vaccuumed in a long time, the walls in the halls looked beat up. It was old and run down . It was in a bad area of town and the security at the hotel was a joke. We left and found hotels near the river which were cheaper and muuuuch nicer.

Renovation Needed
By JudyJ, 6/27/08
It was very close to all attractions. Travel via the shuttle it's a great experience if you meet local as we did. The rooms as well as the other area's are in need of renovations. Otherwise we were pleased with our stay. We had a Hotwire rate and that rate was worth it. We would not have been happy at the standard rate. Do plan a visit.

too much of a good thing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/14/08
I went to the Holiday Inn on a AAA trip. We had a delightful room which included plenty of exercise walking to and from the main lobby.I loved seeing the garden & old trains. The lobby is gorgeously renovated. My only suggestion would be to serve less food! Most of us could not eat three huge pieces of chicken. After eating salad, warm rolls and dessert, I was stuffed. Therefore, it was too much of a good thing!
