A well preserved piece of history.
I'm a history buff, so I decided to check out Chickamauga Battlefield as part of a road trip through some Southern states. Having visited many battlefields before and finding them to be a bit underfunded, I was pleasantly suprised.
The visitor center at Chickamauga was very fresh looking and well maintained. The battlefield itself is well kept up and interesting to tour.
The Chattanooga unit of the park is a bit more of a pain to visit. The roads leading to the Lookout Mt. Visitor Center are wretched, but the view is nice as is the center itself.
Worth a visit, even for the casual fan of American History(the Chickimauga Unit, anyhow).
