terrible place! all kinds of back stabbing going on with management and staff. some doctors in Mississippi own this place and they are constantly firing employees, not paying their vendors, etc. they have a terrible reputation out there in the local community! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THE LOCATION IN COLLIERVILLE, TOO...owned by the same people.

It's under new management and it's wonderful! The food is amazing and the staff is courteous and efficient. I choose to support my local business owners, so I don't go to the chain restaurants. The food is not what you will find prepackaged and preheated. It tastes like someone just made it. And I am very comfortable knowing that the owner is actually there and has a vested interest in my experience.

I have always like crescent city.i went to school in new orleans and the food here is definitely good. i went recently during lunch and i really enjoyed the service and the food. i never had to ask for a refill and my food came out promptly and hot. i am shocked at these negative reviews! the creole dishes are always hot and yummy and i love their sandwiches. i will continue to go back and eat there.

I had lunch today Monday, 09-28-09 at 12:20 pm. I have sined at this resturant quite a few times but this is probably my last. Let's see how to start. I arrived and waited 5+ minutes before anyone ask me if I want anything to drink and then it took a longer time than it should to get a glass of tea. I placed my order Shrimp Creole and dirty rice. It took 25 minutes to receive my order and when it came it had white rice on it. I told the watress and she said well i'll bring you some dirty rice which she did and placed on the table beside the meal I had gotten, and walked away. There were 8 tables on the side of the room I was sat at and 4 of the tables were dirty with dishes and glasses and used napkins. While I ate my meal 2 other tables emptied out and were left dirty. When I left that meant there were 7 of 8 tables dirty. What really upsets me is not only did I get the wrong meal served I was charged for the cup of dirty rice on my bill as well as the price of the regular meal. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my drink either. The berad was over toasted and crumbled when trying to eat it. I have never had such a bad meal here before. I have ate at 3 different Cresent City Cafe's in the Memphis/Southaven area's and I do not think I will go back to the Ridgeway location as the service and cleanliness seems to have gone down hill. The food was more like gumbo than creole. Bad Day At Cressent City. Jim

I'm floored by the other reviews on this site because we ate at the Ridgeway location last night and had a very different experience. Prompt and courteous service from the moment we walked in the door. My husband and I both travel alot with work and have seen all kinds and eaten a little of everything so I say with experience that this place was spotless and the food was some of the best I have ever eaten. We had a crawfish dip appetizer, the crawfish ettoufee, a warm moufaletta and popcorn shrimp for my 3 year old (kids eat free weds). I also had a coffee au’let and beignet for dessert. Everything tasted hot and fresh and wonderful and it was a nice family atmosphere. The whole bill was only $25.00--the cheapest the 3 of us have eaten outside of home. We will definitely go back a 2nd time.

The service at the Southaven location is absolutely horrible. We went on a Friday at 5pm, there were only 3 other customers there. Our waitress took our drink an appetizer order, which was water and fried green tomatoes. My cup was filthy, and we were told we got the last two lemons in the house. We placed our dinner order, and when the waitress repeated our order she stopped midways to say:"let me go grab a pen and paper, I should have written this dwn. We ordered Grilled shrimp,Grilled catfish,Creamed spinach,Corn,& Cajun potatoes. 45min passed and she came out to say: "we're out of shrimp, we have no potatoes, or corn." She then went on to suggest that we go someplace else, saying:"you only had water and an appetizer that'll be on us" We were floored!! Also, the menus were not current and the waitress was not familiar with what they had to offer. Terrible customer service. The couple next to our table, informed us that they weren't surprised, "they always run out of stuff" . Management did not come out to speak with us. Utterly disappointed. The fried green tomatoes were good and hot though, be we won't go back.

Went there Thursday night (June 5, 2008) and picked up two orders of bread pudding as a takeout for dessert. I have never seen bread pudding like this. It was dry. It tasted like someone had melted a little butter over some rolls and sprinkled on some cinnamon sugar, raisins and pecans. I think it had been prepared a long time ago and then nuked. Really poor quality.

(Ridgeway-Memphis) Awful service: After waiting about 35 minutes for our food we checked on our order and learned that it had not been turned in. The place wasn't at all busy. When food arrived it had not been cooked - literally. Picture cold/raw sausage. Oh, apparently they only had two Bud Lites because after my wife and I had those they were out. This was at 6 pm.

Ridgeway location. Worst fried shrimp Poboy I've ever had. The shrimp were tiny and overcooked and didn't have any shrimp flavor at all! If I didn't know that I ordered a shrimp poboy, I would not have known what was on the sandwich...by taste or sight! The last couple of times I've been to Crescent City (including Collierville location) I have been very disappointed. The french fries were good though. I used to really like Crescent City, so it is a big letdown to get the kind of food they are serving now compared to a couple of years ago!!
