My wife and I were given a $200 gift certificate to Binkleys restaurant in Cave Creek Arizona. Over the course of a year we were unable to make a reservation as the place is often booked and with two small kids with varying schedules and a heavy travel diary advance planning is difficult. Today we finally got a reservation only to have the manage tell us they would not longer honor the certificate as it was two months over due. This place may be a good restaurant but it is a consumer trap for gift certificates. The management is rude and belligerent and they are not worthy of your money. Forget it - take your hard earned money somewhere else.

I emphatically disagree with previous negative review. I've been to some of the finest restaurants this country has to offer and the quality of the food and service at Binkley's is on par or surpassing any of them. Frankly, it's surprising that the Phoenix area would be able to keep a chef of this quality here and not be lured away, in spite of ownership. I would encourage anyone to dine at this amazing establishment. You are guaranteed to enjoy an experience unequalled here or in most any other place in the US. Bon appetit!

I have to agree that steveelo is nuts. Though not huge, an 80 seat restaurant is hardly tiny. The food was flawless as well as the service. The amuses were fun, unexpected and added to the dining experience. Perhaps steveelo should stick with Outback. As a chef/owner myself of a restaurant I have immense respect for what this couple is doing.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Food was wonderful - spent a couple of hours enjoying all of the courses. And as if the entire experience wasn't wonderful as is, the restaurant staff called the next day and thanked us for coming. Talk about service!

Binkley's a place too far
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/07
Had dinner at Binkley's this weekend. First, this is a tiny, tiny place. If you want any kind of ambiance forget it. Also this is Cave Creek, way out. The food was fine, service was good, a bit too intrusive, with amuses (free Chef bits) offered and interrupted our conversations repeatedly. Also they want to turn tables in this tiny place so they rush all the food, you feel rushed, not pleasant. Finally I ordered a filet mignon, and I received a mushy, mushy cut, it was cooked properly temperature wise but had been marinated? There is no excuse when someone is charging 38 bucks for a small steak in a strip mall setting in the smallest restaurant in the world for going cheap on meat qualitly. Oh well. Also the desserts were pathetic. Overall, overpriced, no privacy, too loud, too many bodies and food good but not exceptional. Hey also, give up the bread delivery, its ridiculous when you have this many bodies in a limited area. Again are you afraid someone will waste the bread, cheap, cheap cheap. Won't return. They are way too greedy in trying to turn tables three times a night. You won't get repeat customers like this!!!

A taste of San Francisco...
By Gigi, 8/26/05
Having lived in San Francisco for several years, it's hard to find good restaurants in Phoenix metro that have innovative cuisine. Finally, with Binkley's, we have a world class restaurant. The food is amazing, both to look at and to taste. We did the 5 course tasting menu and enjoyed every bite. My husband did the wine pairing and that was also great. Keep in mind that the portions in the tasting menu are very small and you may still be a bit hungry afterward. Be sure to try the cheese plate; they have a stellar cheese selection. It's tough to get into Binkley's; if you're willing to sit at the bar you'll get to hobknob with the locals and staff, which we enjoyed immensely. I can't say enough about Binkley's!

binkleys restaurant scottsdale arizona
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/05
Probably the best in town as of this writing. Small, elegant, great service, but a bit pricey. Figure with drinks and/or wine $100 per person and worth every penny of it. Reservations suggested If no reservation you can sit at the bar for full meal. In good weather patio should be great. I do love good food, and this truly qualifies. My wife agrees and she is a super fine cook herself. Try Tasters menu, it really works well. Buon appetite
