Went out for Sunday lunch with some friends. In previous food was okay, overpriced, but okay.
We were seated in the side area far from the buffet, but it smelled like a fish store--that is a nasty smell for a restaurant.
Food was okay until I saw the feathers in the pineapple honey chicken I was eating. I can understand someone missing a pin feather if it was chicken with skin, but this was breaded/fried pieces of skinless boneless chicken with sauce on it and the feathers were floating in the sauce. When I told the first waitress she tried to tell me that that wasn't feathers (because something else would be better floating around with my food??) then called over another waitress who took the plate, looked at it, and walked off mumbling something about discount when she brought the check a few minutes later. Sunday lunch is normally $12 but they knocked $2 off for the feathers. Never going back there.
This place has been my home away from home for a while now. It's farely cheap, but does not take away from the quality and taste. SO many different choices and all of them are good. I've never been to a Chinese buffet with a sushi bar. It is like going to a high quality sushi restaraunt. It's fresh. I have NEVER gotten sick from eating their food. Even when I have eaten way too much. Overall, it's great.
Recently ate lunch here for the first time. There is a lot of variety to choose from but most of it is poor quality, tasteless except for the hot & sour soup. Unfortunately, ended up with MSG poisoning for the first time in my life (diarrhea, rapid heart beat, low blood pressure, dizziness, blurred vision) within 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant. I am just glad I didn't try the seafood, may have ended up with food poisoning too. The hot dishes were at best lukewarm. There are so many good chinese restaurants in Baton Rouge, but this is not one of them. Cheap prices, cheap food. $6 for a seafood buffet?????? What was I thinking?
With a great variety of choices including seafood, sushi, etc. Great service, and it's clean and pleasant. If you're looking for a buffet where you can eat all you want with many choices and great service this is the place for you.
