Max & Erma's Restaurant, Virginia Beach

I agree this restaurant rocks. It is next to the convention center. Wait staff was great. The dinning area is open and has a great theme to the decor. I ordered the grilled halibut, it was cooked in a lemon herb suace and was so fresh. The drinks are great and we ate on the outside patio.

Ok, so we visited the Max and Erma's at the Doubletree Hotel on 19th Street, and for those of you who were dissappointed with the other Max and Erma's in town and Norfolk try this one at the beach.... We had been at the Hotel for another occasion and thought we would give it a try, actually this was our first time in this chain restaurant. Now usually I save 4 stars, for a more gourmet/ specialty type restaurant, however once in a while you get into a chain restaurant were ordinary food is actually surprisingly fresh, hot and good!! We had excellent service by a waitress named Ashley, personable, and informative and just the right amount of attention without feeling rushed or letting you feel overwhelmed... Rob had the blue cheese burger and I had chicken provenciale, served with cappellini and vegies all fresh and hot.. very very nice presentation... for dessert we had cookies served hot on a baking pan with a spatula (nice idea) and coffee... So if your in the area try it out. Its minutes off the oceanfront and you don't have to be concerned for parking... loved it!!!!

Was disapointed in the fact that they removed several things from the menu that I enjoyed and were the reason I went there to eat. I did have a discount card so would take visitors there now and then. Now they have changed the discount proceedures and if you are not a business person who visits often the discount is piddly. Has turned me off as far as this being at the top of where to go eat list.
